Building Quality Improvement Skills for Quality Medication Use

A PQA & IHI Continuing Education Seminar

PQA is partnering with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) to offer an interactive seminar on applying improvement science principles to improving medication use quality and PQA’s measures. IHI has used improvement science for more than 30 years to advance health outcomes worldwide, and PQA is pleased to bring this expertise to our Annual Meeting attendees.

In response to member organizations’ requests to expand PQA’s educational offerings in this area, faculty from PQA, IHI, Kaiser Permanente and Devoted Health will help attendees learn how to enhance medication use quality and ensure patient safety through quality improvement. Participants will discover the model for improvement, a simple yet powerful framework for planning, testing, and implementing changes that lead to better outcomes.

Attendees will also explore real-world examples and case studies of how pharmacists and other healthcare professionals have applied the model for improvement to address various challenges and opportunities to improve quality medication use.  This session will be ACPE accredited for 3.5 contact hours (0.35 CEUs) of pharmacist CE credit.

The session will be on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, from 11:00 am – 3:15 pm, and will be ACPE accredited for 3.5 contact hours (0.35 CEUs) of pharmacist CE credit.

Space is limited; individuals must select this session during 2024 PQA Annual Meeting registration. There is no additional fee for registration for this event. Those who indicate they would like to attend are committing to attend the entire session and will not be able to participate in the breakout sessions that will be held during this time. Once the session is full, interested participants will be added to a waitlist. Registrants of this seminar will be contacted before the meeting to re-confirm their participation.
