Inpatient Pharmacy Supervisor Stanford Health Care
Learning Objectives:
Describe the 5 major Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) domains
Describe Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) factors that contribute to medication adherence
Identify recommendations to assist with SDOH factors affecting oral oncolytic treatment
Session Description: Oral oncolytic usage has increased significantly in recent years. Medication adherence remains critical to successful disease management. It is not clear how social determinants of health impact medication adherence in the oncology space. To help improve the quality of care for individuals using oral oncolytic medications, we evaluated social determinants of health factors on oral oncolytic adherence and a patient's ability to take their prescribed medication(s). Furthermore, we explore opportunities to remove potential barriers to treatment and identify how pharmacy can support providing quality care.
