Eric Anthony (Tony) Lee, MD joined Kaiser Permanente West LA as a primary care physician in 1999. From 2017 to 2020, he was the Chief of General Internal Medicine at KP West LA. Since 2009, he has been the physician lead/co-lead for KP Southern California's effort to reduce the use of high-risk medications in older adults. These efforts were recognized in 2017 when Tony was named the "Choosing Wisely Champion" by the American Geriatrics Society. As a full-time clinician, Tony sees over 34 hours of direct patient care per week at his office but continues to write about improving medication safety in peer reviewed journals.
Tony received his bachelors degree in Biology from Stanford and his MD from UCLA. He completed an Internal Medicine Residency followed by the Kennamer Fellowship in General Internal Medicine at the UCLA Medical Center. He then completed a Geriatrics Fellowship at the UCLA multi-campus program in geriatrics and gerontology. Tony is currently an Assistant Professor in Clinical Medicine at the Kaiser Permanente - Bernard J Tyson School of Medicine.
